We had a good time. Good spot! Well stocked kitchen! Nice to have daily room service! And, great bonus to have boogie boards and snorkels!

“Loved the ocean right outside of our window” Reviewed 28 May 2016

My sister and I spent a week at this condo. It was clean. All appliances and air worked. Bed was very comfortable. Pool area was well maintained. I hope to stay there again next year. There isn't a sandy beach, but the sound of the waves below our window more that made up for it..

“Very nice place and friendly staff” Reviewed 10 May 2016

Great location and view from our room. We like the west side and this is right on the water at the end of Kaanapali beach. Nice little kitchen and room with balcony and unobstructed ocean view. Parking was easy and free. Walking distance to store and some good restaurants. We would stay here again

“The perfect place!!” Reviewed 11 Nov 2015

We booked this accommodation in Maui for what we thought was 'cheap' as we didn't plan to spend much time in our room on Maui BUT we where completely blown away on arrival, the hotel was beautiful the staff where absolutely amazing and our room was incredible!! It had everything from knifes and forks to tanning oil, after sun lotion and snorkel gear! The view was amazing, rooms spacious and so clean. The only bad thing I could say as a smoker is you cannot smoke on the balconies but soon realized this was common in Hawaii. Will deffinetly stay here again!! Such a bargain for what you get out of staying in this hotel. LOVED IT!

“Amazing Views” Reviewed 25 Sep 2015

Stayed in Condo 604 which is a one bedroom. The view is so very beautiful and to sit out on the patio and have breakfast is to die for. Very nice condo and the property management are super nice and want to make sure you have what you need. Was surprised to fine snorkeling gear including flippers, beach chairs, boogie boards (you have to rent them at the big resorts). Having maids daily is a plus nice fresh towels and toiletries. Now with the view, we walked up about a mile or two along both sides of the Maui Kai and there is NO other resort or condo with OCEAN FRONT like this is. And really enjoyed checking out and not having any hidden fees to pay, all was taken care of. Art and Sophie are wonderful and thank you for sharing your beautiful place in paradise. We will return soon to Maui Kai

“Fantastic!” Reviewed 4 Sep 2015

This place hangs over the ocean leading to outstanding sunsets. The condo is well equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Wifi works well. There is no beach in front of the hotel at least in August. Beaches to either side require climbing over rocks in waves. If you take the driveway past the one to Maui Kai you can park and walk a very short distance to a nice beach. Alternately the driveway before has a parking structure you can park in and go through open door to beach. There are so many beaches to explore and snorkel that this wasn't an issue for us. Reception is friendly and helpful. TV didn't appear to have a guide with programs on it so we bought a newspaper downstairs each day. Art and Sophie are extremely easy to work with answering emails often within the hour. Literally across the street is coffee, Mexican food, Pizza, grocery store and Snorkel Bobs. We found Boss Frogs to be better for snorkeling equipment.

“Great View, very comfortable.” Reviewed 10 Apr 2015

My 10 year old daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Maui Kai condo's. We stayed in 902. Although the furniture was a bit dated, it was very comfortable and was well equipped. The view was fantastic, we sat and watched the whales jumping and blowing, and we saw several sea turtles right below is in the sea. The beach right in front was rocky, but the beach just to the south (about 200 yards) was really nice with no rocks, and the beach just to the north was ok too. The staff were very friendly. We would stay here again.

“Fabulous place to stay for first trip to Maui” Reviewed 29 Mar 2015

This was our first trip to Maui and although the weather was less than ideal, the Condo was fabulous. We spent hours on the lanai watching the whales as it was a huge playground for them right in front of the Condo. Whales don't care about the weather. The Condo had everything we needed for the week including dishes, utensil, etc. They even had the much needed beach towels and boogie boards. Art and Sophie were fabulous preparing us for the trip and available by email while there. The downstairs staff were wonderful at answer my questions. The Condo is in an excellent location to get to all of the activities we wanted to do. My thanks to Art and Sophie for sharing their home with us. Can't wait to return to this Condo!

“This Place Has Everything You're Looking for on Maui” Reviewed 20 Oct 2014

We really enjoyed staying at Maui Kai 806. The setting suns and moons as well as the layout of the unit, and the extremely helpful staff (especially Rowena) made our stay wonderful. We would recommend this place to our closest friends and relatives. It is ideally situated with access to all that Maui has to offer. Close to terrific beaches (snorkeling, sunning, etc.), close enough to beautiful sightseeing around Maui, and access to wonderful Lahaina, this place is simply amazing. It was my first trip to Hawaii and definitely a 5 star stay. This place rocks!

“Great unit, nice location” Reviewed 21 Aug 2014

Condo was a good size for a couple, kitchen was helpful. Entire unit was very clean and well stocked with cooler beach chairs, beach towels, etc. You could not be closer to the beach/ocean, slept well hearing the waves each night. Complex is within walking distance to some shopping, resorts, and nice restaurants. Very clean beach, not overly crowded, multiple sea turtle sightings. My husband and I would absolutely stay here again.

“Loved Maui Kai” Reviewed 2 Mar 2014

We stayed in unit #806 in October. We made reservations through Art Nickel and he was very helpful and made the entire reservation process easy. The property was excellent, right on the water, and everyone there was very friendly. There was also plenty of free parking. Our unit was in excellent condition with nice furnishings, a well equipped kitchen, and a wonderful balcony with an amazing view. We saw turtles every day. Free wifi was great too. There is washer and dryer on the same floor which was convenient to use. There is also daily maid service, even though it is a condo rental. Everything was clean and fresh. There is a grocery store across the street and many restaurants nearby, some in walking distance. We will definitely choose Maui Kai for our next stay and unit #806 will be our first choice

“We loved it!!!” Reviewed 18 Feb 2014

What an AMAZING view! right on the ocean shore/beach literally! It was very private and quiet. We were in unit 406, just high enough to get an amazing view of the Ocean and Molokai in the distance. Sitting and having dinner on the lanai, watching the whales, hearing the waves slapping the shoreline, is an experience to special for even words! The staff was friendly, laundry facilities were located just down the walkway from us, the grounds were well kept, everything was very clean. The cost per unit is a bit more on the pricey side, which I'm sure hinders many, particularly families, from being able to experience the Maui Kai, which is unfortunate. All in all we loved our stay here. We did a lot of exploring so other than walking the length of the beach one day, we did not really hang around the 2 beautiful beaches adjacent to the property, but we sure could have if we didn't have hiking and other adventures planned. It was a great trip!

“Heavenly Sunsets and perfect location!” Reviewed 7 Oct 2013

Although we did not stay in unit #806, Art was able to book us on the top (10th) floor in a fantastic Junior Suite. From the minute we arrived until the minute we left I was astounded at the beauty of the islands and the view that the Maui Kai provides. It is one of the very first condo's on the beach at Ka'anapali , I believe built in the early 70's. Because of this, the condo literally sits where the waves break onto the beach. You will not get closer to the beach with a better view of the islands of Lanai and Molokai than this condo. We stayed in late September (out of season) according to locals, but the island seem to be fairly busy to me. The condo is maintained impeccably and the pool area was always clean and offered a great activity room with a high speed interned computer, LCD large screen TV, full kitchen, and great little library. For my wife and I, this location was perfect due to its proximity to a few great golf courses (Kapalua-10 minute drive) and only 5 minutes from Kapalua Airport if you want to take a day trip to one of the other islands. We took a day trip to Oahu to see Honolulu and the Arizona memorial.......perfect side trip! You are also only a 10 minute drive to Lahaina, a bit too" touristy" for my liking, but great for restaurant choices and shopping. It kind of reminded me of Mallory Square in Key West. From Lahaina, you can catch a ferry over to the island of Lanai for the day to explore or play a round of golf at one of the 2 stunning courses. We did this one of our days and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. All in all, this condo is a gem that provides a view and serenity that you don't find at the larger name resorts. Artie was an absolute professional to deal with and exudes the "Aloha Spirit" along with the entire staff at the Maui Kai. We will definitely be staying here when we get a chance to come back to this paradise!

“Perfect Accommodations!” Reviewed 16 Sep 2013

Stayed at Maui Kai 806 on our honeymoon and could not have been happier. If you look at the pictures, you know what you are getting. No surprises, which is great. Mornings on the lanai were very peaceful and we certainly enjoyed every minute of our trip. Sunsets were beautiful, albeit quite hot from 4-6. Check-in / Check-out, and everyday parking are a breeze. Nobody bothers you. Pool is certainly pleasant enough for a nice dip. Views are amazing. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Tip #1: If you hear something turning on and off during the evening, look to make sure the ice maker isn't turned on, and trying to (very loudly) make ice. Tip #2: If you plan on being a beach bum for more than an hour, rent comfy chairs from Boss Frogs down the road. The chairs in the hotel are fine, but to truly relax, spend $10 for the week and rent chairs that recline and are 50 times more comfortable. Snorkel gear in the condo, on the other hand, is excellent, so no need to rent any. If you are reading this, you are probably going to Maui soon, and be sure to know that I am very, very jealous! Have fun!

“Magnificent view with tasteful decor that met every need we had for our entire honeymoon” Reviewed 24 Jul 2013

You cannot go wrong with this rental. The front desk is efficient, knowledgeable and so kind. The owners had a beautiful welcome basket wishing us a great honeymoon waiting for at the condo. The housekeeping is terrific and very consistent- fresh towels, garbage removal and bed made each day. The condo itself shows the owners have thought of and anticipated renters every need from outlets everywhere, even on the lanais, board games, every kitchen accessory including a great blender for mixed drinks, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, flat screen, etc... I could go on and on. Clothes washer and dryer us reasonable- $1.25 for wash,$ 1.25 for dry. and they are large so can fit a lot in a load. They have a pool and cabana with other amenities we truly did not use since we preferred to explore the island. Parking is free. The bathroom is very nice and the shower is wonderful with hot water in an instant if that is what you prefer. Nothing beats the view from the lanais..... full length sliding doors that you can leave open and fall asleep to the ocean waves and feel the breeze as the ceiling fan helps move the air around.. pure paradise. They do have air conditioning if you prefer. We cannot wait to return.

“Fantastic trip to Maui and stay at Maui Kai”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2013 My husband and I were looking for both a fun and relaxing trip to Hawaii. Staying at the Maui Kai was truly fantastic, a great home base for our vacation!! We loved the fact that it was right on the beach, and we could go for jogs or walks along it anytime we wanted to. There was also a boardwalk a few steps from the condo building where we could walk/jog for what seemed like forever - just fantastic!! We were able to walk all the way into Whaler's Village and beyond on it. We found a Starbucks right on the beach and chilled out for several hours watching the surf and breathing the ocean air. We rented a car while there which gave us maximum freedom to get around. There is a great little shopping plaza right down the lane from the condo which allowed us to get a some groceries and other things we needed, as well as having a few restaurants close-by. We were able to make healthy meals at home, and use the Bbqs as well, or we could go out to eat as well. We really liked the variety and options. The condo building was immaculate, and very well maintained, although it is an older building, it was well very well taken care of. We were able to watch the sun set at night on the beautiful lanai, which was dreamy. Although we didn't stay in unit #806 as they didn't have full availability while we were there, Art & Sophie Nickel took care of us and ensured we were set-up in another room for our stay. All I can say was that it was a true pleasure dealing with art, he called us directly to prepare our reservation, gave us lots of great info, answered all of our questions and ensured we got a great unit on one of the top floors. We highly recommend the Maui Kai - it was just perfect all around, and we will be going back for sure!!!

“Great stay again!!!” Reviewed 25 Jun 2013

We stayed in February 2013 at Junior Suite 806 for the second time. Thank you art an Sophie for another wonderful stay! The condo is right on the water, so all day long we saw a constant show from the whales. And every day we spotted sea turtles and fish. The condo is very clean and updated, and this time there was also a new flat screen TV and a great, high top table and chairs on the lanai. The condo has everything you need if you decide to eat in, and there are also grills at the pool. Can't wait to visit this gem of a condo on our favorite island again!

“Awesome!!” Reviewed 14 Jun 2013

For the price this unit is outstanding in every way. Good parking, easy to access, well furnished, large balcony with lovely sunset. Located on the beach with easy access to shopping and restaurants.

“Incredible View!” Reviewed 28 May 2013

We couldn't have been happier with this wonderful condo. We walked in the door and said wow!! Better than the web-site! The added extras all were wonderful...snorkel gear...binoculars...boogie boards...beach chairs.. wonderfully supplied kitchen. We loved sitting on the lanai watching the sun set. Art and Sophie were great to deal with and very helpful. The Maui Kai is a small low key resort and we loved it.

“Great views!” Reviewed 27 Apr 2013

We booked this unit booked directly through owners art and Sophie Nickel. It was very easy to find and a wonderful condo. The views are amazing, we saw whales and turtles every day, and one day we even saw spinner dolphins. The kitchen was great to have, we made our meals and sat out on the deck and watched the sunrise. There is a small beach right off the condo, however a quick drive takes you to a wonderful sandy beach as well as another beach that had fantastic snorkeling . I would stay here again!

“Wonderful holiday in Maui” Reviewed 26 Feb 2013

We booked the condo through art and Sophie Nickel who so kindly sent us valuable links to help us plan our holiday. The people at the front deck at Maui Kai were very friendly and efficient and before we knew it we were in our condo on the 8th floor watching whales frolicking in the sea. The condo provided complete privacy, was clean, nicely furnished, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped. I drool while thinking of the many enjoyable moments we spent on the deck looking out to the sea. The condo is located in a very nice part of Maui and stores and restaurants are in walking distance. You can snorkel, sunbath and walk along the beach on either side of the condo. I highly recommend this condo.

“Perfection” Reviewed 6 Jan 2013

Great location on the island. Beachfront property, multiple pools, dining (dukes). We stayed for a week and would have loved to have added a year on to our stay. Great housekeeping, services, and under ground parking. Close to all local restaurants and attraction.

“just marvelous” Reviewed 7 Dec 2012

We spent 1 week in this condo, from oct.12 to oct.19 and we just adore our stay. Everything was perfect: the unit (clean and very functional) the right size for 2, the view, the sunset, good size beach for walking, the sound of the waves the city and surroundings (grocery at 5 min walk) and the whole island (sports, trails, scenery etc.) Everybody was very kind at the reception and we had a good service. We visited 3 islands and this place (the whole set-up) was the best. We would certainly refer our family and friends at this place. We would like to go back one day.

“Beautiful location and nice staff” Reviewed 24 Nov 2012

This was an excellent decision! It is a really nice condo. It is quiet, but nearby to a lot of shops and things to do. So much better than staying at a huge resort!

“Perfect Condo on the Beach” Reviewed 20 Nov 2012

We truly enjoyed our stay in Suite 806 at the Maui Kai everything was perfect as the unit is very clean and comfortable. This condo has everything needed for a beach vacation such as, boogie boards, beach chair, snorkeling equipment, towels, binoculars, cooler. Sitting on the lanai having breakfast watching the turtles was a treat as was seeing the amazing sunsets. We found the location good as it is close to Times supermarket, restaurants, shopping and Lahaina. The beach to either side of the Maui Kai is good especially since it is not crowded. Being on the 8th floor gave a good view of the ocean. We would definitely stay here again.

“Perfect” Reviewed 12 Nov 2012

We stayed here for 9 nights on our honeymoon and had an amazing time. Great location. Just a few minutes to Lahaina and awesome snorkeling right at your door. Try Duke's restaurant on the beach for great breakfasts in a short walk. The unit itself was clean and comfortable with an amazing Lanai. Great views!!!

“A little slice of heaven!” Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

We loved Maui Kai!! It was absolutely perfect for our needs. We loved the view and the awesome balcony (every morning I woke up, opened the curtains, and said, "Good morning, Maui!") :) and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. It was nice to have some of the perks of a hotel (front desk, towel and cleaning service) without all the extra fees (plus free Wifi, free parking, and free movies!). We spent a lot of time at the pool and liked that it was relatively quiet and not too busy. We loved the location of Maui Kai as well, since we spent a lot of time at Whalers Village and did other sight-seeing in the area. We went up the the Olivine Pools and hiked down and swam in them - something I will never forget. We did the Road to Hana and that was incredible. We had a perfect honeymoon and definitely plan on coming back someday. Art and Sophie are very lucky to own a little slice of heaven!! We thank them for making it affordable for us to experience it too!

“Wonderful outlook and situation.” Reviewed 7 Aug 2012

Art & Sophie's Apartment 806 at Maui Kai is as described .It is very well situated close to and overlooking the ocean. We were fortunate to be able to watch turtles on several occasions and the sunsets were beautiful. The apartment is fine for 2 people. Clean and tidy with all the necessities well maintained and in good order. The building is not new but is well cared for. Easy to find and ample outside parking. Staff were positive and helpful and the daily service was good. We would be happy to return.

“Renovations are key!” Reviewed 29 Jul 2012

Maui Kai 806 is an updated unit and that's part of what makes it amazing. There was some confusion at the front desk and my new husband and I were originally given a non-updated room on the 6th floor. This was fixed right away, but seeing a non-renovated condo really helped me appreciate 806! In addition to the nice furnishings, the kitchen was stocked nicely. My favorite part of the whole condo was likely the lanai - we saw some amazing sunsets there! I would certainly stay in this unit again if I am able to return to Maui!

“Loved the view and relaxed atmosphere!” Reviewed 14 Jun 2012

Aloha. If your looking for the experience of an ocean front room, then you have found the best deal on the island. We had such a wonderful time in Maui and staying at Maui Kai 806 was one of the best parts. Even though Maui Kai is an older resort, #806 is fully updated and very comfortable. We left for a day trip to Oahu and found ourselves missing our ocean front room in Maui. We kept referring to Maui Kai as home and we couldn't wait to get back to our little slice of heaven. While sitting out on the lanai we saw turtles swimming in the ocean and the sound of the waves was extremely soothing. The staff at Maui Kai are wonderful to work with and respond very fast to any needs you might have in your room or on the grounds. The new elevator opened on the second day of our stay and it made a big difference (very nice). I don't believe that you could find a better deal on an ocean front room in Maui. We are already planning to return and we will be staying at Maui Kai. Don't miss out on this jewel it really is the best deal on the island. Mahalo!

“Beautiful views” Reviewed 14 May 2012

The Maui Kai 806 was a wonderful stay. The view is amazing and the condo was as advertised. Not a fancy place to stay but a great value for the cost. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

“Luxuirious accommodations in a wonderful beach location.”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2012 Although we frequent five star hotels when we travel for business, when we are on vacation we dislike "institutional" accommodations. Maui Kai was perfect for us. It is in a great location right on the beach. Unit 806 is in great condition and is luxuriously furnished. We saw whales virtually every time we were on the lanai. The weather was great. We found numerous stores with character within walking distance including a great grocery store, an organic grocery store, great pizza, ice cream and coffee, and a great therapeutic massage center. We can't wait to return.

“Super Vacation!” Reviewed 6 Mar 2012

We stayed at #806 for 10 days. This condo was exactly what we were looking for. Everything we needed was included (towels, safe, bodyboard, cooler..). The staff was very friendly. The view from the lanai was amazing. We saw whales everyday. If you want to be right on the ocean and not spend a fortune, this is the place!

“One week...not enough!” Reviewed 26 Feb 2012

Everything about this property was first class. Perfect for my husband and me. The view is priceless and the location convenient. We would watch the sunrise out back and set from the lanai in the evening. We didn't even need to use the binoculars to see the whales, they were right in front of us! The locals were friendly and welcoming. It was fun to see our name on the welcome board upon our arrival. At home we have a King sized bed and we thought the queen would be too small but it was so comfortable we just melted away at night. With the breezes, we never had to turn the air conditioner on at all. Thank you!

“Excellent value for money with spectacular view”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2011 We had a terrific stay at Maui Kai condo 806. The view from the condo is first rate. Condo is on the small side but is clean and has everything you need. We really loved staying at the Maui Kai.

“Wonderful Maui condo” Reviewed 24 Sep 2011

We stayed at Maui Kai room 806 in June, 2011. The condo is well appointed, clean, as described on the website. The view is fantastic! We found that the blender was broken and within hours, the front desk delivered a new one. The grounds are lovely and we liked the location as we frequently went to Kapalua Bay. We were able to bring the provided beach chairs and cooler which made for a wonderful afternoon at our favorite beach hangout.

“Beautiful Condo, Awesome Location & Wonderful Staff” Reviewed 3 Aug 2011

Our stay could not have been better! The owners were very easy to deal with and the staff at the building were wonderful. You will not meet nicer or more helpful people anywhere. Prime oceanfront location with a beach. Very comfortable condo with everything you need. We went to Oahu after we left here and regretted it! We had such a great time at the Maui Kai that it spoiled us and made Waikiki seem overcrowded, less personal and less than a perfect atmosphere (heavy traffic, homelessness, farther from the beaches, etc).

“Beautiful View/Great Price” Reviewed 9 Jun 2011

We had a great time at Maui Kai :) The condo was lovely and the staff at the front were friendly. It was easy to get to where we wanted to go and a bonus that parking was free. We loved the lanai, it was great having the high bistro chairs so we could sit and look over the balcony. We will be sure to recommend to our friends.

“Incredible!” Reviewed 8 Jun 2011

We spent a fabulous 8 days on Maui in the Maui Kai 806 unit. We cannot say enough good things about this place! The decor was great, the location was quite, but close enough to Lahaina, Napili & Whaler's Village to make it perfect & being right on the water was awesome! Art & Sophie were wonderful to deal with, as was all the staff we met at the Maui Kai. This place is well worth staying at & we highly recommended it to family & friends. We cannot wait to stay in Maui Kai 806 on our next trip to Maui!!

You just can't get any closer to the water !!!

“Great Time in Maui again” Reviewed 6 Apr 2011

We had such a great time in Maui again, this was our 2nd time to stay at the Maui Kai and we love it. Thanks so much to art and Sophie who booked a condo for us. This is the 2nd year we have booked through them and they go above and beyond to make sure that everything goes right for us and that we are happy with the condo that we rented. Maui Kai is a great place to stay, the view is fantastic, sitting on the Lanai watching whales and sea turtles was awesome. Not to mention watching the people surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving as well as just enjoying the beach. Being able to see all of this from the Lanai anytime we wanted was so fantastic. Other places have an ocean view, but being able to look directly down on sea turtles swimming is something you won't get at too many places. My wife enjoyed walking from our condo to Whaler's Village. The boardwalk is a great place to spend an early morning walk before heading out to all the great activities that are close at hand. We love Lahina and the fact that we are a 15 minute drive from the town is really nice. Just a 5 minute walk away is an excellent grocery store and there are so many places to get food, or to eat out, go to farmers market...whatever you want to do it is close by. I know we will be going back to Maui Kai again, and we will definitely use art & Sophie to book our condo.

“Wonderful week at the Maui Kai” Reviewed 4 Apr 2011

We booked our reservation thru rental program members art and Sophie and we are so glad we found them. This being our first time to Maui they were absolutely fabulous with helping us with tips and suggestions about Maui before we ever left home so we could know what to expect and helped us in planning our week. The Maui Kai facility has a lot of wonderful history and is so displayed in several books in the lobby. The room was fantastic and to our surprise was cleaned daily with clean towels provided every day. Normally whenever we have stayed somewhere for long periods you don't see the cleaning service every day. You almost look off the lanai directly down onto the ocean, its that close. You can walk thru the lobby and take about 10 steps and be on the beach, walk south along the beach about 10 minutes and your at Dukes, a wonderful restaurant. We hope to be able to return someday to this beautiful island and the Maui Kai. Thank you again art and Sophie for all your help in making our stay so wonderful. MaLisa and Virgil

We booked through art and Sophie Nickel and although their unit was not available they helped us secure another unit in the building for a very affordable price. Unit 902 was even better than we were hoping for. We spent a lot of time on the lanai just enjoying the view of the ocean and the islands of Lanai and Molokai. The location of the Maui Kai was perfect. We walked the beach every morning and also walked on the beachwalk which starts a short distance from the Maui Kai and goes all the way to Whaler's Village. All of the staff were wonderful to deal with and we met a lot of really nice people who were also staying at the Maui Kai. We had a rental car so we made good use of it and toured all over the island. It was the best vacation we've ever had and we are hoping to return again someday. If and when we do, we will definitely stay at the Maui Kai again.

“Fun and Relaxation at Maui Kai” Reviewed 1 Dec 2010

What to do, stay or go? So much to do on Maui, but so comfortable and relaxing in our condo...and the view... It was the same question every day...such a decision. So, we did some of both. We couldn't leave Maui without seeing the sights and enjoying the beach, so we did that. On the other hand, we came to relax and recover, so we did that, too. Sitting on the lanai and reading while listening to the waves was wonderful. No, we didn't get to stay in the famous 806, but we did book through art and Sophie, who were so helpful and so kind to us through the entire process, and our condo, too, was lovely and so comfortable. Can't say enough good things about the Maui Kai, but then, maybe I already have.

“Absolutely amazing!” Reviewed 18 Nov 2010

After a ton of researching for our honeymoon, my husband and I decided to book through art and Sophie at the Maui Kai because of the reviews, location, amenities, and price. The room was clean, stocked with all the items we needed, and have an amazing view! The bed was so comfortable, I fell asleep every time I sat on it. It was great having a kitchen with cooking utensils because we could cook dinner and eat it on our lanai watching the sunset. We also really liked that there was a cooler and beach chairs. We used these a few days. The building was very quiet and peaceful. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely stay there again! Thank you for the wonderful accommodations.

“great value & wonderful MauiKai visit” Reviewed 23 Sep 2010

we went in July and loved the location. excellent pool area we loved eating on the Lanai. want to be here when the Whales are here too. you feel like you could just reach out and touch one.. don't miss the farmers market. the Cost co by the airport had fresh Maui strawberries and fantastic pineapple. go to the local grocery . it's much better than Safeway. Grill out at the pool. don't forget the Maui coffee factory... next to the big smokestack. Art set up up with another unit, his was booked. you can't go wrong here. I am recommending it to everyone I know that wants to go to Maui. this was champagne at an imported beer cost. hard to find this kind of value today!!

Well equipped with all the little things you need but don't ever think to bring or need to buy. We will return for an anniversary at some point.

“A great room, a great view, a great value.” Reviewed 13 Sep 2010

We came to Maui for a wedding and booked our trip ahead of time through art & Sophie Nickel. This was not our first stay on the island, but it was a fabulous trip. There were several other wedding guests staying at various places in the area, but the Maui Kai was by far the best value for any place in the Kanapali area. We loved sitting on the lanai overlooking the water, and can just imagine how great it would be if we were there during whale watching season. The people were so nice and the room was exactly what we expected. We used the pool, sat on the beachfront and patronized nearby businesses. Art & Sophie were so nice to work with and left us with a guide to local restaurants, several of which we tried and enjoyed tremendously. We can't say enough good about the place, but suffice it to say we will definitely recommend it to our friends and relatives and we will stay there again in the future.
